The Super Anchor 1075 D-Minus is a low profile roof anchor with a patented built-in fall indicator: the 7/8 inch connector hole is bent at a 45 degree angle and visibly deforms if the anchor is ever loaded by a fall or other force. Stamped from 11 gauge powder coated steel with a 5,000 lb minimum breaking strength, the 9 inch leg installs temporarily with duplex nails or permanently with stainless spiral shank nails or bugle head screws.

Who Needs This Product

D-Minus anchors are for roofers, builders, and safety managers who want an anchor that shows its history: one glance at the 45 degree connector hole tells a competent person whether the anchor has ever been loaded. Crews install them temporarily with the supplied duplex nails, or permanently under the overlapping course with spiral shank nails or bugle head screws and the included butyl strips. Each worker ties off with a full body harness and a personal energy absorber rated 1,800 lb maximum arrest force, or an SRL-LE. D-Minus anchors are not for window washing, horizontal lifeline systems, work positioning, scaffolding, hoisting, or lifting.

A deformed fall indicator retires the anchor. If the connector hole leg reads less than 45 degrees, remove the anchor from service and dispose of it in a way that prevents further use; never re-bend a deformed anchor. Do not reverse load anchors exposed to a free fall, and do not use 16d sinkers or duplex nails for permanent installations. Sheathing must be installed before the anchor is used for fall protection.

1. Position the leg centering holes over the top chord center with the connector hole exposed downslope.
2. Choose fasteners for the job: No. 2012-A 16d duplex nails for temporary installs, or No. 2013 spiral shank nails or No. 2045-3.5 bugle head screws for permanent installs.
3. Drive all 6 factory supplied fasteners; never substitute fasteners from another manufacturer.
4. For permanent installations, seal the leg with the included 7 inch butyl strip under the overlapping course.
5. Inspect the underside of the framing and verify there are no blow-outs and no fasteners through sheathing only.
6. Space anchors a maximum of 8 ft on center, minimum 12 inches from the ridge, per the job specific fall protection plan.

Inspection and Retirement

Inspect before installation and each use, with documented annual inspections. Remove the anchor from service when any of the following apply:

• The fall indicator leg reads less than 45 degrees; dispose of the anchor so it cannot be reused.
• A fastener blow-out is visible from the underside of the framing.
• Fasteners are visible through sheathing only or the anchor is off center.
• The anchor was reverse loaded or subjected to a free fall.
• The PID label is missing or unreadable.
• Fasteners were substituted or reused.

Tag anchors removed from service to prevent further use until inspected by a qualified or competent person.
