Who Needs This Product
Tower crews, wind technicians, and industrial teams working at height carry a controlled descent device so a worker can evacuate from an elevated position without waiting for outside rescue. The automatic centrifugal brake holds a constant descent speed with no user braking input, which makes it dependable under stress, and the sewn terminations at both ends allow successive descents in shuttle fashion.

How to Use
Follow the FallTech instruction manual. The sequence below is an overview only.
- Anchor the device. Connect the anchorage eye or carabiner to a rated anchor point above the descent path.
- Connect the user. Attach the descent line carabiner to the harness frontal or dorsal attachment per the manual.
- Descend. Step off under control; the centrifugal brake holds a constant 2.6 ft per second without user input.
- Shuttle if needed. With terminations at both rope ends, the next user connects to the opposite end for successive descents.
- Retire after use. Remove the device from service after an emergency descent and return it for factory inspection.
Inspection and Retirement
Inspect before each use and have a competent person perform a documented inspection at least annually.
- Rope: cuts, abrasion, glazing, and sheath damage over the full length.
- Housing: cracks, corrosion, and free rotation of the anchorage eye.
- Carabiners: gates lock fully; no deformation.
- Function: short test descent per the manual to verify braking.
Retirement triggers: any emergency descent, rope damage, or failed function test.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast does the device lower a worker? The centrifugal brake holds a constant 2.6 ft per second for a single user with no braking input required, which keeps the descent controlled even if the user panics or is incapacitated. What is the maximum descent height and load?525 ft maximum descent height and 440 lb maximum single-user load, covering a worker with full kit. The spec sheet rates cumulative descent service at 25,152 ft with a 220 lb load and 2,620 ft with a 440 lb load. Can multiple people use it in sequence?Yes. The lifeline has sewn terminations with carabiners at both ends, so as one user descends, the opposite end returns up for the next user in shuttle fashion.Which length should I choose?Match the rope length to your tallest evacuation point: 60 ft covers most rooftop and low tower work, 100 ft mid-height structures, and 250 ft tall towers and stacks.
